Customer avatars are the ideal customers for your product or service.
I had to rewind when Dan Koe, in his Solopreneur Sprint Webinar #1, said: “…if you are the niche, if you are the target customer and writing advice to your past, present, and future self….”
What a simple and effective way of describing my ideal customer for my writing — me.
Wait a minute — I am the customer avatar for my writing, content, and future services.
I don’t agree with everything that Mr. Koe espouses in his seminars, but he’s sort of brilliant with some of his observations.
For instance, I shelled out $150 for this course because he described my struggles (and observations) to a tee. Dan had started multiple ventures that included a fitness channel on YouTube, freelance web design, and probably more. You know who else has tried a bunch of things but lost interest in them (to not see them fully through)?
Me.
I’m that guy who looks up all superfluous details before getting started, like:
Website name?
Should I go with a .co or .io or .xyz domain?
Squarespace or Wix?
Ghost.org or WordPress?
Google domains or Namecheap?
Substack, beehiiv, or Ghost?
Instead, I should have just focused on getting started and, most importantly — continuing.
My goal is to write for 30 days straight. I’m on Day 3.
This is what I want to tell my past, present, and future self: Keep going.
Just keep going.
